2021광주시립미술관 청년작가초대전

이인성_ 아이엠 그라운드

광주시립미술관 청년작가초대전은 광주전남지역 출신으로 작품활동이 왕성하고 창의성이 돋보이는 청년작가 1인을 선정하여 작가와 작품세계를 집중적으로 조명하는 전시다. 2021 청년작가초대전은 주변의 일상적인 일들을 관찰하고 사유하는 것에서 시작해 은유적 회화세계를 펼치고 있는 이인성 작가를 초대했다. 

“아이엠 그라운드”는 자신을 소개하는 놀이 이름에서 가져온 전시 타이틀로 이인성 작가의 세계관, 방향성과 더불어 전반적인 작품들을 소개하는 의미를 가진다. 이번 전시를 통해 개인과 주변에 대한 심리적 풍경을 회화적 장치로 풀어내어 현대인의 치열한 삶과 감정, 다양한 가치관, 가상의 공존 등 이인성 작가의 알레고리적 예술세계를 만날 수 있다. 작가 자신의 현실적인 삶과 예술, 그 사이에서 확장될 공존과 무한한 예술적 성과를 기대한다.      

2021 The Young Artist Invitation Exhibition

Lee Insung _ I AM GROUND 

The Gwangju Museum of Art’s Young Artist Invitational Exhibition is an art show to select one young and up-and-coming artist who has been very active and whose creativity stands out as a native artist of the Gwangju Jeonnam region and to shed light intensively on the artist and the world of his or her artworks. This year the exhibition invites artist Lee Insung whose work begins with observing and meditating on his surrounding’s everyday affairs to bring forth metaphorical or allegorical paintings. 

Appropriated from I Am Ground, a game introducing oneself, the title of this art show is meant to bring out Lee’s worldview, his work’s orientation, and his oeuvre. This exhibition will serve as an opportunity to experience Lee’s allegoric art scenes encompassing contemporary people’s lives in the fast lane, their emotions and sentiments, a diversity of values, and imaginary coexistence through his interpretations of an individual’s or his surrounding people’s mentalscapes couched in his pictorial idioms. Our expectation is that we can meet his real life and art, intimately reinforced coexistence, and artistic accomplishments through this exhibition.
