성곡미술문화재단은 쌍용그룹의 창업자이신 (故)성곡 김성곤 선생의 문화예술교육에 대한 관심과 열정으로 설립된 순수 공익문화재단으로, 선생의 평소 지론이신 ‘인재 양성이 나라 발전의 밑거름’이란 뜻을 실현하기 위해 1995년 성곡미술관을 개관하였습니다.

성곡미술관은 우리의 삶과 일상을 보다 더 가치 있고 풍요롭게 하는 현대미술의 이해와 그 대중화를 목표로 국내외에서 활동하는 창의적인 예술가들의 작품을 소개하는 기획전과 젊은 작가를 지원하는 다양한 프로그램을 진행합니다. 서울의 한 복판, 유서 깊은 경희궁 길에 위치하고 있으며 조각정원과 카페가 함께하는 성곡미술관에서 우리시대의 새로운 문화예술을 경험하시기 바랍니다.

Sungkok Arts & Cultural Foundation was established in 1995, in honor of the late Mr. Sung Gon Kim, founder of Ssangyong Corporation.  The foundation, named after Mr. Kim’s pen name, is a non-profit organization that aims to continue Mr. Kim's dedication and efforts to support education, arts and culture, and fulfill his philosophy that ‘national progress begins with the cultivation of bright minds.’

Sungkok Art Museum aims to promote the understanding of contemporary art by introducing a curatorial programming that supports both Korean and international artists. Located in the heart of Seoul, on the former palatial site of Gyeonghuigung, Sungkok Art Museum also presents an outdoor cafe and a sculpture garden, landscaped with seasonal blossoms.
